本作并非《上帝也疯狂》正统续作，而是“精神上的续作”

"The game is the spiritual successor to Molyneux's earlier creation, Populous and is inspired by his other titles: Dungeon Keeper and Black & White."
“本游戏是Moplyneux早年作品《上帝也疯狂》系列精神上的续作，并且受到他的《地下城守护者》和《黑与白》系列的启发。”
至于什么叫“精神上的”，发布帖的那张图说得很清楚：
“the regenesis of the godgame”
“天神类游戏的复活”
可见，本游戏是一个全新的系列，需要一个全新的译名。
