Dear former alterIWnet users,

First off, welcome to the new forums - I'm glad to see a lot of familiar people around and I think with this core community we can build something that will last a lot longer and will, given a year or two, become one of the more respected gaming communities on the net.

This announcement is to address the recent closing of the parent site, alteriw.net. I understand a lot of people are upset with the servers being shut down and are having problems with connecting (obviously). I would ask, however, that you don't spam this new site with tech support-ish or "when is aIW coming back" style topics. They aren't appreciated, because we've already given the answers for these. alterIWnet as you knew it is gone - although a "legit" version is being developed at our sister site. You'll have to wait some time for that to come out though.

Legally the premise for this site is to get started again on a new foot - to build a site that will stand the test of time without the threat of a potential DMCA notice. As a result I hope you understand our reasoning for not continuing what was previously in place - and the above policy for discouraging such topics. If you have any (good) questions or comments please feel free to contribute them in this thread - I'll be actively monitoring and replying.
