Notes:Fallout 4 includes several different types of armor, such as leather, combat, metal, and of course, power armor. The heavier the armor, the more protection it will offer. The Armorer perk allows you to create and modify all armor types, using various resources obtained by scrapping items found throughout the game world. Armor is now layered, and is split into six separate zones. These include the head, torso, and all four limbs. Each zone has it’s own protection rating for various damage types, and most armor incorporates two main types of resistance. Damage Resistance protects against ballistic damage, caused by fists, unarmed weapons, melee weapons, explosives, and conventional ranged weapons. Shock Resistance protects against energy damage, caused by laser weapons, electrification, and lightning. Note that plasma weapons inflict both types of damage, and lightning also causes radiation damage and can lead to ghoulification.
Your armor will slowly degrade as you engage in combat and take damage. Armor components can be repaired to a quality level determined by the number of ranks you have taken. Subsequent ranks will improve the overall effectiveness of each component. When viewed using the ‘Inspect’ function in the Apparel menu, individual components will be displayed as green for good condition, amber for medium condition, and red for poor condition. Additional resources will be required when repairing armor.

Notes:Fallout 4 includes over 50 base weapons, and over 700 individual modifications, covering a number of different weapon types. The Weaponsmith perk allows you to modify all unarmed and melee weapons in order to increase damage output, and can be used to inflict various types of damage, including ballistic, energy, poison, bleeding, fire, cryogenic, limb, and armor piercing. Each modification requires various resources which can be obtained by scrapping items found throughout the game world.
Unarmed and melee weapons will become less effective after extended use. This includes components added to the base weapon.
