Converting PS4 Horizon Forbidden West Saves to PC
Good news for everyone that has a hacked ps4 or a subscription to save wizard and wants to play using their old save on PC. It is possible to convert decrypted PS4 saves to PC.
In Zero Dawn it was possible to do by just renaming a few files for Forbidden West the process is a bit more involved, so I made a little utility to do the work for you: hfw_saveconvert.zip
The process of converting is as follows:
Extract your decrypted PS4 save using either Apollo Save Tool (or Save Wizard) I used Apollo Save Tool and used the option Export save game to Zip then saved the file on a USB stick.
Inside the savedata0 folder you should have a file checkpoint.dat. That is your actual save
Extract my utility from hfw_saveconvert.zip
Drag checkpoint.dat onto hfw_saveconvert.exe
The program should generate a new file next to checkpoint.dat called autosave0.dat
Go to the HFW PC save folder ("Documents\Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition\<RANDOM NUMBERS>\")
You should see a bunch of dat files including an autosave0.dat file. Rename it or delete it
Copy the autosave0.dat that you generated in step 5 in the place of the old file
Launch the game and load the autosave manually. It will probably be named "Reach For The Stars - Level 1 - 00:41:50". This will not match your PS4 save. We will fix it in the next step
Once you have loaded your save make a new manual save. It will update the mission name and level to the correct one
Hopefully this will work for you guys as I have only tested it on one of my saves
If this does not work send my your checkpoint.dat and a sample PC save (any autosave[1,2,3,etc.].dat ).
This might work for PS5 saves as well but I have no idea as I don't have one to test.
