Usage Guide  使用指南

Important: Close Mewgenics before making any changes.

To rename a cat:  给猫命名：

• Open the Save Renamer tab
  打开“保存重命名器”标签页
• Select a cat from the list
  从名单中选一只猫
• Type a new name and click Rename
  输入新名字并点击重命名
  

To rename game entities (enemies, items, etc.):
要重新命名游戏实体（敌人、物品等）：

• Open the Game Data Modder tab
  打开游戏数据模组标签页
• Search for the entity you want to rename
  搜索你想重命名的实体
• Type a new name and click Set Override
  输入新名字并点击设置覆盖
• Click "Apply Overrides" to write all changes to the game files
  点击“应用覆盖”来写入所有游戏文件的更改
  

To edit cat name pools:
编辑猫名池：

• Open the Cat Name Pools tab

• Add or remove names in any pool

How It Works  工作原理

The tool writes small override files in a data/ folder next to the game exe. The game loads these instead of the originals from resources.gpak. Your GPAK is never modified. Restart the game after applying or removing overrides.
工具会在游戏 exe 旁边的一个数据/ 文件夹里写入小型覆盖文件。游戏加载的是这些，而不是来自 resources.gpak 的原始文件。你的 GPAK 永远不会被修改。应用或移除覆盖后重启游戏。
Installation  安装

• Download and extract the MewgenicsRenamer folder
  下载并解压 MewgenicsRenamer 文件夹
• Place it next to your Mewgenics game files (next to resources.gpak / Mewgenics.exe)
  把它放在你的 Mewgenics 游戏文件旁边（resources.gpak / Mewgenics.exe 旁边）
• Run MewgenicsRenamer.exe

No dependencies, no install needed. If not placed in the game folder, the tool will try to auto-detect common Steam install paths.

Troubleshooting  故障排除

• "No save files found" — Make sure you have played Mewgenics at least once
  “未找到存档文件” — 确保你至少玩过一次 Mewgenics。
• "resources.gpak not found" — Place the MewgenicsRenamer folder next to the game files, or browse to it manually
  “resources.gpak not found” — 将 MewgenicsRenamer 文件夹放在游戏文件旁边，或手动浏览
• Changes not visible in game — Make sure you closed the game before making changes, then restart it
  游戏中不可见的更改——确保在更改前关闭游戏，然后重启游戏
• Antivirus warning — The exe is unsigned. Add an exception if needed. The _internal folder is required, do not delete it.
