Hey everyone, in an attempt to kick start RE5 modding, I'm going to create a tutorial explaining how to Extract Models from RE5.

1) First, you will need the PC Benchmark, which can be obtained here:

2) Download the Lost Planet Arc Extractor. It can open RE5 PC arc files.

3) Third, Download this pack of DMC4 Modding tools, which (a few) are compatible with RE5 PC.

4) Now, in your Root directory for the Benchmark (XP Install is Crogram FilesCAPCOMRESIDENT EVIL 5 Benchmark Version) Look for a folder called "NativePC". Remember this name.

5) Open the Lost Planet Arc Extractor (LPAE) and go into the NativePC folder in the RE5 Benchmark Folder. Now, go into the "Image" folder and then the "Archive" folder. This is where the character Model ARCs are located. We're gonna work with Chris Redfield for now.

6) Look for the file called "uPl00ChrisNormal.arc" and open it with the LPAE.

7) Make sure this looks right


8) Hit "Save all" and choose a location

9) Look for the file called "pl0000.58A15856" this is Chris' main model.

10) Now, take pl0000.58A15856 and put it in the same folder as the "DMC4 Model" program, and rename pl0000.58A15856 to pl0000.mod.

11) Run DMC4Model.exe and type in pl0000.mod and hit enter

12) This converts the model to an OBJ file, which can be imported into Milkshape.

13) The model is very buggy, so try and help us by editing OTHER models besides Chris and Sheva. we could use some Nice looking Majinis...
