Bejing, China (178) - The outspoken Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick has announced his desire - and perhaps intention - to create an "online world" for the Call of Duty franchise.
When asked what would be the one thing he would change about his company if he could make it happen with a snap of the fingers, Kotick replied that what the world needs now is a Call of Duty online world ... and subscription service.
Is this just idle speculation, or is an online world actually in the works for the franchise? Kotick says "hopefully".
You'll notice that he doesn't actually say anywhere how such an online world would work - are we talking an MMORPG style thing, with quests and NPCs? A persistent world with factional conflict? Having no idea but hearing that this kind of thing makes a lot of money and wanting a piece of that action?
