Installation Process
To install the Crysis 2 Mod SDK after having downloaded it, please execute the Crysis2_ModSDK_v1.0.exe stored on your hard drive. Follow the instructions that will guide you through the whole installation process.Plug-Ins Automatic Installation
Installing the Max/Maya Exporter and its related plugins, Polybump Application and/or the CryTiff plugin is normally done by the installer. The software detects your installed version of 3DS Max, Maya and/or Adobe Photoshop and integrates the plug-ins automatically. This even works for having multiple versions of one Software installed (e.g. 3DS Max 2009 and 2010).
During the installation process you can select and/or deselect features you do not want to have installed. Only plug-ins for software (e.g. 3DS Max) the system detects to be already installed on your hard drive are being listed separately and thus can be selected/deselected. However, all plug-ins get installed into the Crysis2\Tools folder anyhow for manual installation.
Manual Installation
If the automatic installation fails or you want to install a plug-in manually at a later point, please follow the steps mentioned in the Installing Additional Plugins section.Launching Sandbox
- The Sandbox executable Editor.exe can be found in the Bin64 directory of the Crysis2 root folder. The application can also be launched using the shortcut in the start menu.
- The Engine Settings Manager (SettingsMgr.exe) in the Crysis2\Tools directory can be used to change the registry keys to the global resource compiler path. This setting is used for tools like the CryTIF Photoshop plugin but not required to run the editor. If the path wasn't set or the resource compiler executable cannot be found there the system asks for it.
- Running on Direct3D 9 or Direct3D 11
