Some tips on "Connecting to server"
by Awookie » Wed Feb 08, 2012 10:45 pm
I've found that the cannot connect to server issues are often the results of client side issues.
I've found that some of these steps may allow you to connect.
1: Run iw5mp as an administrator.
2: Ensure that the neccesary ports for mw3 is open (a list can be found on Google).
3: Ensure that your router has uPNP (universal plug n play) enabled.
4: While running iw5mp, alt tab out, find its process on the task manager. Right click it and set priority to high, normal or below Normal. Use whichever one works.
5: Turn off your antivirus/firewall. If you feel too insecure, add the iw5mp and aiw5 an exception.
6: Every time you reconnect, exit the game before you attempt to connect again.
They may not work, but I've found that these steps help to connect, and it has also reduced mouse lag.
PS - To those of you who constantly scream "its alpha bla bla bla", stfu. Other people are playing while for some reason, others can't. At least tell them that you don't know, but its unavoidable due to instability, or try to input something constructive. Its obvious that you may not be able to connect while others are online, so stop with the server is off bull. Sometimes it is, but other times, its a client side bug. Note that some of these people are new, and you gift from god pretentious mini moderator attitude isn't welcoming anyone.
