《刺客信条：黑旗》未来将会率先登陆PC、PS3、Xbox 360和Wii U四大平台，其中PS3版的游戏还拥有长达60分钟的独占游戏内容。据之前的报道显示，《刺客信条4：黑旗》的游戏背景被设定在18世纪初期的加勒比地区，游戏主角是《刺客信条3》中的Haytham Kenway的父亲Edward Kenway。
