[其它] GameSpot深度揭秘巫师3:狂猎——3部曲之2——狂猎的世界

最近几天,GameSpot的小编前往CD Project总部探营,就巫师3:狂猎的许多问题与CD Project的大牛们展开了深入的讨论,并亲自试玩了12个小时。此次GameSpot爆料的深度、广度较IGN等其他平台都有过之而无不及,之前的许多疑问也在此之后得到了解答,下面我们跟随着Danny O'Dwyer的脚步一起到巫师3的世界里去走上一遭。

此次GameSpot小编带来的视频短片共分3部:分别是CDProject的前世今生、巫师3狂猎的地图和怪物以及巫师3狂猎的游戏体验
视频共分3部,本来直接下载就可以看了,不过GameSpot网站的技术比较厉害,视频格式很奇葩,无法直接下载,只能采用全屏播放,然后录制的方式来二次生成影像,如果在线播放时出现卡顿,只能对录好的视频进行手动拼接,个人的网速又不太稳定,为了截取高清画质的视频,费了一番工夫,整个过程繁琐至极,在此不再赘述。不过这么麻烦也要把它下载下来,其质量也就可见一斑了,如果各位的网速给力的话,建议还是去原址观看,原画级别的画质应该是更加赏心悦目的

与其他网站做的评测相比,这次GS的评测更加深入,爆料更多,涉及的范围也更广泛,整个节目更像是可以放在电视上播放的高清访谈短片,而不是我们经常看到的某些粗制滥造的作坊流水产品。不管从画面的拍摄、音乐的搭配,还是实打实的爆料,GS都是目前为止制作最精良,下功夫最多的一家媒体了,这一次对巫师3的报道,GS无疑是走在了前头。

下面仅对个人更感兴趣的第2部和第3部进行介绍,全部内容都是个人耳听手记手打而得到的第二手资料,如有雷同,请注明原文出处,虽然估计也没人会拷贝,原帖地址GameSpot首页到处都是,一个Danny打头的编辑就是所有这些内容的作者,以下所有内容的最终所有权都归原作者Danny O'Dwyer及其团队所有,个人只进行了转译和录入,在此再次诅咒下那个该死的文件格式。

巫师3系列报道之2:The World of Wild Hunt

   Hey there, welcome back to GameSpot 3-part series on the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. In yesterday's video, we explored the history of the franchise, and gave you a look at the prologue area where you get your first lessons on witching. Today we travel further, much further into bustling cities across craggy islands, and down into farm lands consumed by monsters and beasts. So put on your best pair of shoes, today we explore the world of Wild Hunt.  

  
  Ok, Let's get down to details. Senior Environment Artist Johnas Madison was on hand to answer our questions about the vast world of the Witcher. But don't worry, we'll keep this super light, in terms of story-spoilers. If you have any specific questions about the story. Feel free to hit me on twitter @ dannyodwyer. So the entire world of the witcher isn't one big map, it's actually broken up into 2 large maps, that is the prologue map and a number of closed-off labels inside the main continent.【1】 In the last video, we introduced you to the prologue area of the game around the town of White Orchard. This is where you spend the first couple of hours of the game, but it's tiny in comparison to what comes next. The main open world of the northern realm comprises of vast area stretching from the city of Novigrad in the north down into a rich and beautiful rural area which decends into No Man's Land, an area containing a warfront, swamps and plenty of abandoned villages.

    "So you have a big city in the north, a metropolitan. As you move south, you come into worn, torn and ravaged area which you also saw a little bit off. And that's one huge open world."

    A second seperate open world, Skellige Islands, is an archipelago to the west of the main continent. This is reachable only by a fast-travel boat ride【2】 which consitutes one of the very few times you will be forced to hit a loading screen【3】. The islands are varied, more sparse and wild, and of gorgeous  weather effects from snow storms to sun-swept valleys【4】. Then  there're on closed areas which you can only travel to via the game's map. We've seen 2 of them, firstly, the Royal Palace in Vizima, and secondly the home o the witcher Kaer Morhen【5】, which exists in the far north of the main map. There could be more of these, and we couldn't travel  to Kaer Morhen during our time, but we did learn you could be fighting alongside other witchers there are later in the game【6】. And that's to say nothing of  the story beats with Ciri, the game's other playable character, we'll get to those in the next video. You're also free to return  to the prologue area of the game at any time to complete any remaining side-quest, explore the world, or simply get a fist fight with the local corps【7】. Of course, this is just what exists in the mortal realm. CD Project are hiding some of the more fantastical places up their sleeves【8】.

    "I don't really want to spoil the story,(Okey) but there're certain places, there are places in the world that you will come across quite, uh, non-natural and odd-looking【9】, definitely."

    So Let's talk about the main open world. First of all, it's bloody big, I attempted to run from the center of the map all the way to Novigrad, and its northern limit. Even that took me about 20 minutes on horse back【10】.But granted I probably didn't take the most direct route, mostly because the land here is more dense and a lot more of a open world. Villages are numerous and packed tightly together, each with its own message board full of side-quests and stories. And as you wander into these new villages, their sign post become new fast-travel  locations.【11】


    "You arrive with your horse, you stop, and you see something's over there. You wanna go there, you wanna explore and see what you can find there. Maybe you come across a village underway. Maybe that's a monster hunting quest. So it's all this kind of things just happens, and this is what we wanted to have within the game, er, when you explore the open world."

    Apparently, everyone in the village have their own routines and schedules from sunrise to sunset, unless, of course, it starts raining.【12】

    "We have lots of different types of weather, of course, but important things to notice, it's not only cosmetic effect. It actually has effect on community,er ,so you know, there rains, I better find shelter, you know, it's night time, people pack up their things from the market, square, and go home, But also monsters."

    Some monsters are affected by the weather, so when you go monster hunting, depending on the monsters, you have to pay attention to what time of they it is【13】, but the world of Witcher 3 isn't all just rolling hills and swamps. The vast city of Novigrad lies to the north with boats【14】, bars and brothels for you to enjoy. It's a bustling vibrant city full of life XX. We're gonna spending a lot of time there【15】.

    Novigrad isn't as large as the cities in the Assassins' Creed, but its detailer's quite impressive【16】. Streets packed with citizens, bustling bars and brothels, you can wander into without a loading screen. Walking into Novigrad is one of those time that Witcher's technical prowness is on full display.

    Hum, so one question you guys keep asking is how does it look on console. Obviously, when we went to play the game, we were playing the PC version. As you can see from the trailers on the forecast screenshots. Looks pretty great. And XX on the Project Red. We actually got a sneak peek. Ash the console version and ops for Xbox One in this room that we were testing performance for those versions.

    They are sort of tweaking, have a look for frame-rate optimization module there. So a little bit of frame-rate hitching, obviously there's too much to perform, the game came out  we're both  cautiously optimistic that it looks good on those consoles, in fact, we went it beforehand. We're thinking, ur, we'll probably get it on PC. But by the time we left that room, we thought, you know what, I think it might be alright to play on PS4 and XBox One. In any case, however it looked, in terms of frame-rate staff, this was definitely  the best open-world game I've ever seen running on the current Gen console.【17】

    What is technically impressive and beautiful is Novigrad is to behold, you must be sure to tread carefully, while wandering through a less populated part of the city. A group of high-leveled bandits tried to mug me【18】. Evil lurks underground, too. The soil of Novigrad are vast and full of monsters. So we expect some quests in the city would involve subterrainean pest control【19】. This shouldn't be a problem for you, though. After all, you play as Geralt of Rivia, famed monster hunter. You'll be hunting monsters throughout your time in his shoes【20】. And according to Lead Character Aritst X X, you probably won't  run out of them.

    "Well, of course, always we start from some estimation so I..., but the game grew so much on the beginning from innitial concept of the game, huh, I don't know the exact number, of course, but I feel that the game is 3 or 4 times bigger than it initially planned it to be. So also the bigger regions and the bigger areas of the map to explore. They, huh, you need to create, of course, more monsters to occupy during a gameplay. So, I remembered this is like, you know, on Monday morning, some end of production of the game almost, I get a email: Hey, I know it's late, but we need some additional 20 monsters, you know. So how many of them, just ,I don't know, many.We have bigger, smaller,medium size monsters, huh-huh, a lot of them. "【21】

    With good reason, CD Project are keeping tight lips on the types of monsters you'll encounter. But from what we've seen from both playing the game and the trailers, there's a lot of variety.

    "We have monsters that's also spreading fire. We have monsters that are hypnotizing you. We have monsters that are disappearing can run away or going underground. So every monster requires a different tactics, actually,so those involves crossbow, using them, uh, the bombs, the petals Geralt had, using special potions, or even using signs. For example, when you fight X, you're not actually able to kill it【22】. We fought it using signs. There are large bastile monsters【23】 you'll fight one on one. There are pack monsters like drowners, or the horrible exploding zombies known as rot-fiend, there are water-hags, they can evade you with ease while you're in swamps. 【24】And just when you think you've seen it all and it can't possibly get any more disgusting, or wierd, you stumble upon a demonic XX hungry for revenge."【25】

    Yeah, nightmare for days. And then there's the wildlife, pack of wolves, deers to hunt. I fought a bear within the first few minutes which lies in the prologue area【26】. And of course, the greatest monster of them all----Humans. Groups of bandits can be found across lands【27】, and killing them can be just as satisfying. For the first join in the open world, game design of CD Project manage to make a world with a great breath and variety. I've spent first few hours here, just wandering around, riding my trusty XX into bandit camps, sailing a boat down river, discovering ruins and join the sunset, unlocking new towns to fast travel from, and running from fights with monsters that would clearly evolve my level.【28】

    You know, in many ways, Wild Hunt doesn't really feel like a witcher game. It feels closer to a fantasy version of Red Dead Redemption【29】. You kind of exploring the wilderness and running into towns, and pick up quests. But What Type of Quests? Tomorrow on GameSpot part III, we detail the gameplay of the Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. Its Main Quest, Secondary Quest, Side Quest, Random Encounters and everything else you'll be doing in this wonderfully impressive open world.


亮点解读
【1】游戏中会有两块大陆可供探索,大的一块与天际全图相当,小的一块也比巫师2全地图合在一起还要大,总的来说肯定比天际要大

【2】小的一块(Skellige Islands)需要乘船才能抵达,基本属于与世隔绝
【3】游戏中的载入画面极少,或者说基本没有,由此推断,一旦载入,时间可能会非常长
【4】仅岛上就有多种天气变化

1、敌人的等级是固定的,如果Geralt等级比敌人低太多,将很难造成伤害
2、敌人的等级会显示,显示骷髅符号的敌人代表威胁度极高,最好不要去惹它,贸然冲上去可能会被秒杀
3、游戏中有怪物图鉴之类的收集元素,可以在里面查看到已经遇到的怪物的详细信息,包括活动范围、出现时间以及弱点(解释了【13】)
