Real Building Upgrades 1.3.1
New version (1.3) as of 2.08 - Updated for Summer 2017 Patch
Building Upgrades for all 47 vanilla buildings (including 5 UBs) and Sukiennice, if DLC Poland is active.
How does it work?
- Each Building can be upgraded and since there are (usually) 3 levels of base buildings, there are also 3 levels of Upgrades. They characteristics and parameters depend on their level (see below).
- Each Building Upgrade has the same icon as base building with a distinctive plus sign added.
- A Building Upgrade becomes available usually after researching a tech/civic that immediately follows a tech/civic that grants the base building (with few exceptions). This represents the idea that a building has to be constructed and used for some time before any upgrades can be applied.
- All Unique Buildings also have Upgrades.
Level 1 Upgrades
- provide 50% of base building yields,
- few upgrades of early buildings also have unique feature or unique yields from improvements (see below),
- cost approx. 50% of base building and Maintenance Cost = 1,
- Hangar is here and you can also upgrade Palace!
Level 2 Upgrades
- provide 50% of base building yields,
- provide additional +1 yield of a different type (few provide +2),
- cost approx. 75% of base building and Maintenance Cost = 2.
- Sewer, Airport and all religion-dependent buildings are here.
Level 3 Upgrades
- provide 50% of base building yields
- provide additional +2 yield of a different type (few provide little more),
- have a unique feature added (see below),
- cost approx. 125% of base building and Maintenance Cost = 3 or 4.
Unique effects
- Airport Upgrade - Housing +2 & Amenities +1
- Amphitheater - Amenities +1
- Barracks Upgrade - +1 Prod from Camps
- Library Upgrade - Amenities +1
- Lighthouse Upgrade - has Regional effect
- Museums Upgrades - +1 Gold for each GWA/Artifact
- Power Plant Upgrade - Gold for each adjacency Production bonus
- Research Lab Upgrade - has Regional effect
- Seaport Upgrade - Food for each adjacency Gold bonus, Housing +3
- Shrine Upgrade - has Regional effect
- Stable Upgrade - +1 Prod from Pastures
- Stave Church - +1 Faith from Lumber Mills
- Stock Exchange Upgrade - has Regional effect
- Water Mill Upgrade - +1 Food from Plantations
- Workship Upgrade - +1 Prod from Quarries, Housing +1
Comments
- Buildings that provide Gold have Maintenance = 0 but Gold is lowered to account for this.
- Faith-purchased upgrades also have Maintenance Cost = 0.
- None of the upgrades provide additional Citizen Slots.
- All upgrades can be built via Production Queue and are compatible with CQUI.
- All Wall-type upgrades have Maintenance Cost = 1.
