Quest Fixes:
Spoiler: Show
These are fixes to several of the game's quests. Some are fixes to bugs that prevent progression, while others just make the flow smoother or enrich details.
1) "Berengar's Blade" quest fix -- quest requires Geralt to speak to Vesemir, but Vesemir cannot be interacted with after Isle of Mists. The chest that gives the quest can still be opened after Isle of Mists, leading to a failed mission. This fix makes the chest become inactive after going to Isle of Mists to avoid getting quest that cannot be completed.
2) "Mysterious Passenger" quest notification fix -- suppresses notification of "Mysterious Passenger" becoming active after quest "Nameless" if Geralt has already met Uma. "Mysterious Passenger" only becomes available if Geralt completes "Nameless" before completing "Family Matters".
3) Invisible note #1 in "Child of the Elder Blood" quest -- Caranthir's Progress note was invisible and did not react to Witcher Senses; now made visible and turns red when using Witcher Senses.
4) Invisible note #2 in "Child of the Elder Blood" quest -- Remarks Concerning The Death Of Auberon note was invisible and did not react to Witcher Senses; now made visible and turns red when using Witcher Senses.
5) Dead End Dialogue: Dandelion initiating "Cabaret" quest -- Dandelion would not initiate quest "Cabaret" if player already has wooden swords in inventory. This fix overlooks the swords in inventory to proceed with giving the quest.
6) Dead End Dialogue: Crach an Craite during "King's Gambit" quest -- dialogue could be missed due to poor ordering of menu options and no highlighted text to guide the player.
7) "Iron Maiden" Quest Fix #1 -- fixed being locked out of completing quest "Iron Maiden" if you already picked up the sword in free roam.
8) "Iron Maiden" Quest Fix #2 -- fixed the order of when the sword is removed from inventory during "Iron Maiden" quest to prevent being locked out if you fail to defeat Jutta the first time.
9) "Out on Your Arse" Quest Fix -- Geralt refuses to accept reward after throwing the Skelligers out on their arses.
10) Incorrect String Issue #2: Zed's Ledger in the Quest "A Dangerous Game" -- when finding Zed's ledge, it incorrectly states the next card to get is Isengrim. Updated to reflect the correct card is John Natalis. Available in 14 languages: English, Portuguese, Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Czech, German, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Russian, Polish, and Turkish. Currently unable to translate for Japanese, Korean, and Arabic.
11) Dead End Dialogue: Bloody Baron during "Family Matters" quest -- dialogue could be missed due to poor ordering of menu options.
12) Dead End Dialogue: Crones while talking to tapestry during "Ladies of the Wood" quest -- poor ordering of dialogue options leads to redundant dialogue. Reordered to flow more smoothly.
13) Dead End Dialogue: Crones when meeting Geralt during "Ladies of the Wood" quest -- poor routing of dialogue options leads to unnecessary replaying of lengthy sections of dialogue to experience all the options. Reworked the flow and removed some yellow highlighting to assist and make it flow more smoothly.
14) Dead End Dialogue: Fisherman during "Family Matters" quest -- lack of yellow highlighted text leads to locked out dialogue options. Added yellow highlight to give visual cue and assist with the flow.
15) Dead End Dialogue: Dudu during "The Play's the Thing" quest -- all dialogue options are highlighted in yellow, leading to confusion when one of the options is meant to be supplemental. Removed yellow highlight to give visual cue and assist with the flow.
16) NG+ Wolf Gear Bug -- during New Game+ playthrough, all chests containing Wolven gear have schematics for both the regular gear as well as the legendary gear. This fixes the containers so only the legendary schematics are awarded during NG+.
17) Phantom of Eldberg Contract -- when picking up the Phantom of Eldberg contract from the notice board in Arinbjorn, the notice for Monster on the High Road is incorrectly given. This fixes it so the correct notice for Phantom of Eldberg is given.
18) Dialogue Issue: Vespula during "Broken Flowers" -- after Geralt saves Vespula from the thugs, there are two occasions during the dialogue that lock out other dialogue options. This fixes it so the yellow highlighted text clearly indicates which dialogue choices move the conversation forward.
19) Missing Dialogue Option: Keira during "Blood on the Battlefield" -- after the Battle of Kaer Morhen, the surviving members of the group are standing around at the funeral. Geralt can speak to each of them before leaving the scene. When speaking with Keira, she says she and Lambert are leaving as soon as he feel better. There is a line of dialogue that was placed in Keira's default .w2scene file instead of this one, and would only be accessible by running back to Kaer Morhen after the events of Bald Mountain and talking to her then to receive the dialogue. However, Keira should not be here at this point (another bug, fixed below), so we moved the dialogue line to where it logically fits during the discussion at the funeral.
20) Keira incorrectly spawning at Kaer Morhen after the events of "Blood on the Battlefield". The game gives an ending that shows Keira and Lambert of in the world together. However, unlike all of Geralt's other pals who leave the scene of the funeral, Keira remains there and can be accessed by jumping a wall in Kaer Morhen and running up a hill to the site of the funeral. This fixes it by making her despawn so she will not appear. Note: the script to make this happen runs during "Blood on the Battlefield", so the fix must be enabled by the funeral or else it won't work. Despawning her attaches to the save file, so she will not appear after that point, regardless of whether the fix remains active. It must only be active during the funeral until the start of "Bald Mountain". It does not retroactively remove her -- any save files from after "Blood on the Battlefield" where the fix was not enabled during the playing of that quest, will still see her in Kaer Morhen, even with the fix enabled. Thanks to [color=var(--theme-primary)]MerseyRockoff for this fix.
21) Missing Dialogue option: Fringilla about Cantarella -- Geralt can ask Fringilla about Cantarella. However, this dialogue option does not appear in Fringilla's menu because CDPR incorrectly linked the criteria. The scene has been updated based on the criteria that Geralt has dinner with Sasha, who reveals herself to be the spy Cantarella. At that point, Geralt can now ask Fringilla about Cantarella.
22) "Missing In Action" quest does not give gold reward -- Dune, the quest giver in "Missing In Action" promises Geralt a reward for helping him find his brother. Later, after locating his brother, during the cutscene, Dune gives Geralt his reward. However, when rewards are given, the player receives only experience and no gold. Fixed so that the player now receives 20 crowns from Dune.
23) "Price of Passage" quest initiates very late in the game -- the quest "Price of Passage" has a condition to start after "Oxenfurt Drunk". This is an arbitrary condition and delays "Price of Passage" until level 24 (or later) despite the clear implication that the quest should initiate much sooner. This is now fixed so it initiates upon Geralt's first trip to Oxenfurt. Note: it is location based, so Geralt needs to approach the Oxenfurt Harbor.
24) "Twisted Firestarter" missing journal entry -- during the quest "Twisted Firestarter", Geralt can choose to free the arsonist or turn him in. If Geralt chooses to turn him in, the middle paragraph of the journal entry incorrectly does not get added to the journal. This fixes the entry to correctly display in the journal regardless of whether the arsonist is freed or turned in. Note: this fix is not retroactive; it attaches to the save file, so it will only work on a fresh save. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]konyme for this fix.
25) "On Death's Bed" journal entry reveals spoiler -- during the quest "On Death's Bed", Geralt can choose to spare a woman injured by a Griffin attack by giving her a swallow. The journal incorrectly reveals her fate at this time (reveals spoiler). Later, when Geralt meets her boyfriend in Velen, the boyfriend reveals the woman's fate. This fixes the journal so that the entry revealing her fate is added only after talking to the boyfriend, not prior. Note: this fix is not retroactive; it attaches to the save file, so it will only work on a fresh save. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]konyme for this fix.
26 - 28) Numerous fixes for "Heart of the Woods" quest: fixes logic to prevent red checkboxes, adds missing journal entries, and additional dialogues by bystanders. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]MerseyRockoff. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]dvcons for the original fix for Heart of the Woods, which inspired us to take a fresh look at the quest to fix the logic. Replaces "modQuestFix" ***New fix! as of version 2.0***
29) "Oxenfurt Drunk" fix: fixes logic for "Kill Katakan" quest objective to prevent the red checkbox. This will show the quest objective to kill the Katakan and remove it afterward without leaving the red checkbox. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]MerseyRockoff. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]NoPreference for the original fix for Oxenfurt Drunk, which inspired us to take a fresh look at the quest to fix the logic. Replaces "modOxenfurtDrunkFix" ***New fix! as of version 2.0***
30) "Deadly Crossing" fix: fixes broken bandit encounter south of Dragonslayer's Grotto. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]MerseyRockoff. Consolidates "modDeadlyCrossingFix"
31 - 32) Moritz Diefenthel fix: fixes the scene with Moritz Diefenthel burning on a stake after quest "A Matter of Life and Death". Also fixes guard proximity to trigger dialogue. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]MerseyRockoff. Consolidates "modMoritzDiefenthelFix"
33) Thaler's Monocle fix: enables returning of Thaler's monocle found in the prologue. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]Klubargutan. Consolidates "modTalerFixModPapers"
34) Yennefer's Comment on Geralt's Beard: Fixes Yennefer's dialogue about Geralt's beard during "The King is Dead, Long Live the King". Now correctly comments when he is clean shaven. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]Klubargutan. Consolidates "modFixYenneferBeardDialogue"
35) Hjalmar and Folan fix: Fixes dialogue scene with Folan and Hjalmar during the quest "Lords of Undvik". Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]Klubargutan. Consolidates "modhjalmarFolanFix"
36) Triss Dialogue about Ingrid Vegelbud: Fixes dialogue scene with Triss at beginning of "A Matter of Life and Death" where Geralt can ask "Who's Ingrid Vegelbud?" Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]Klubargutan. Consolidates "modfixTrissLine"
37) Hidden Quest: Enables hidden quest "Enchanting: Mastery Demands Sacrifice" from Runesmith. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]Klubargutan. Consolidates "modenableHiddenEnchanterQuest"
Quirky Placement Fixes:
Spoiler: Show
This mod fixes several quirky placement bugs throughout the game. Some of these can impact gameplay such as teleporting Geralt to other locations, while some of them are annoying nuisances like being placed on top of a stack of books.
38) Quirky placement issue #1: Novigrad Book Merchant
39) Quirky placement issue #2: Chameleon Innkeep

53) Quirky placement issue #16: Lindenvale Innkeeper
Inventory Cleanup Fixes:
Spoiler: Show
There are instances when items are held on the left side of the inventory screen with the message "Item needed to complete a quest". The problem is that many of these items remain locked in that section even after completing the quest. This fixes them.
Note1: the script to cleanup the item runs when the quest completes, so this cleanup only occurs when you complete the quest. It will not remove items if the quest has already been completed. They will be removed the next time the quest is completed in NG+ or fresh start.
Note2: this is a work in progress and will be expanded in the future.
54) Inventory Cleanup #1: Unsent letter in quest "Blood Ties" -- During the quest "Blood Ties" Geralt is asked by the mother of a missing Nilfgaardian soldier to find out what happened to him. Upon investigating, Geralt finds that her son deserted, and was captured and hanged. Geralt has a choice: tell the mother that her son died a hero (lie) or tell her that her son deserted (truth). If Geralt tells her the truth, the mother does not believe him. He gives her a letter written by the son to prove it. The problem is: in the vanilla game, the letter remains in inventory after the quest even if Geralt gives it to her. This bug fix removes the item from inventory only if Geralt tells her the truth (that her son deserted). If he lies to her (tells her that he died a hero), the item will remain in inventory because he does not give the letter to her.
55) Inventory Cleanup #2: Items not removed from inventory after quests "Ugly Baby" / "Va Fail, Elaine" -- At the end of the quest "Ugly Baby" (which ties directly into the quest "Va Fail, Elaine"), Geralt and co. are finally lifting the curse on Uma. In order to lift the curse, Geralt must craft a potion called Decoction of the Grasses using some key items. However, in the vanilla game, after lifting the curse, two of these items remain permanently in inventory: the Decoction of the Grasses potion and the Forktail Spinal Fluid vial. Since they are marked on the left side of the inventory screen, they do not move to the right side where they can be sold and decluttered. This bug fix removes both items at the conclusion of lifting the curse on Uma.
56) Inventory Cleanup #3: Lever not removed from inventory during quest "Great Escape" -- During the quest "Great Escape", Geralt travels through the sewers under Oxenfurt on the way to free Margarita (and maybe Sile) from captivity. While in the sewers, there is a door that must be opened but the lever is missing. Geralt finds the lever and uses it to open the door. However, the lever remains in inventory after the quest despite the animation showing him placing the lever into the mechanism, and it stays on the "Quest" side of the inventory screen where it cannot be sold or discarded. This bug fix removes the lever from inventory.
57) Inventory Cleanup #4: Keys to Vigi's cage not removed from inventory during quest "Lord of Undvik" -- During the quest "Lord of Undvik", when Hjalmar and Geralt first arrive upon the sleeping giant, there is an option to collect a key and free Vigi who is held captive by the giant. The problem is: even if Geralt frees Vigi, the key to unlock his cage remains on the "Quest" side of the inventory screen forever, where it cannot be discarded. This fix removes the key from inventory upon completion of the quest.
Dialogue Icon Issues:
Spoiler: Show
This initially started when I spotted a couple of Gwent players that didn't have the Gwent icon in the dialogue menu. As we dug into it, we found other instances of incorrect dialogue cues, such as highlighted yellow text when there shouldn't be, no yellow when there should be, exit icons, incorrect use of shop icons, etc.

Journal Fixes:
Spoiler: Show
This section is dedicated to numerous fixes that address issues with the journal, including missing entries, incorrect entries, or even duplicate entries.
94) Slyzard Matriarch journal fix: fixes entry so that the picture of Slyzard Matriarch properly displays regardless of order found. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]konyme.
95 & 96) Journal fix for Sheala / Sile De Tansarville: fixes the journal to reflect whether Geralt kills her or not, and stops the journal from displaying her if she died in TW2. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]konyme and [color=var(--theme-primary)]PaulR0013. ***New fix! as of version 2.0***
97) Gwent: Old Pals fix: records journal entry for "Win a unique card from Zoltan". Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]MerseyRockoff. ***New fix! as of version 2.0***
98 - 107) Journal Fixes from Contracts and Minor Quests: Klubargutan's fixes (10). Full list [color=var(--theme-primary)]here. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]Klubargutan. Consolidates "modfixJournalEntriesContracts"
108 - 123) Journal Fixes from DLC and Early Main Game: Klubargutan's fixes (16). Full list [color=var(--theme-primary)]here. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]Klubargutan. Consolidates "modfixJournalEntriesDlc" and "modfixJournalEntriesDlcBonus"
124 - 138) Journal Fixes for Treasure Hunts and Side Quests: Klubargutan's fixes (15). Full list [color=var(--theme-primary)]here. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]Klubargutan. Consolidates "modfixJournalEntriesSidequests"
139) Journal Fix for Empty Coop quest: adds one paragraph after turning in quest. Klubargutan's fix. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]Klubargutan. Consolidates "modfixEmptyCoop"
140) Incorrect String Issue #1: Journal Entry for Quest "Crime and Punishment" -- journal incorrectly states that Geralt finds the prisoner chained to the rocks on Undvik. Updated to reflect Geralt found the man on Ard Skellig.
141) Wolf Gear Upgrade Part 1: revises quest to say "Find the silver sword upgrade diagram." instead of "Find the silver sword upgrade diagram using Witcher senses." (duplicate entry) Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]konyme. Consolidates "modWolfSHPart1DuplicateFix"
142 - 157) Quest Locations Fix for Journal #1 (Novigrad to Velen): fixes 16 quests that are labeled as Novigrad in the journal but are really Velen. Full list [color=var(--theme-primary)]here. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]glassfish777. Consolidates "modVelenTHLocationFixes"
158 - 166) Quest Locations Fix for Journal #2 (side quests): fixes 9 side quests that are labeled as various incorrect locations in the journal. Full list [color=var(--theme-primary)]here. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]glassfish777. Consolidates "modSideQuestLocationFixes"
167 - 173) Quest Locations Fix for Journal #3 (Scavenger Hunt quests): fixes 7 Scavenger Hunts that are labeled as various incorrect locations in the journal. Full list [color=var(--theme-primary)]here. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]glassfish777. Consolidates "modScavengerHuntLocationFixes"
174) Journal Issue: Black Roach -- during the quest "Equine Phantoms" in the B&W DLC, an entry is created in the journal for Roach. If you have a brown Roach, it works fine. However, if you have the black Roach (earned by getting the Empress Ciri ending AND refusing Emhyr's gold reward), the journal screen is blank and does not have a picture of the black Roach. This restores the picture of black Roach to the journal. Note: this fix only works before black Roach is added to the journal during "Equine Phantoms". Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]MerseyRockoff for this fix.
Miscellaneous Fixes:
Spoiler: Show
A handful of miscellaneous fixes that don't fit into other categories:
175) Pang Of Conscience infinite money exploit -- there is a tower in Kaer Morhen where a skeleton holds a letter of apology and the unique sword Pang Of Conscience. The sword and letter should only spawn once (like every other unique container in the game). However, upon saving and reloading, the sword and letter are available to loot again infinitely. This fixes the skeleton to properly give the sword and letter only once.
176) Bell Pepper icon fix -- both the regular Pepper and the Bell Pepper share the same label and icon despite being two distinct items. This fixes the icon to correctly display a bell pepper, and revises the label to call it a "Bell Pepper".
177) Hornwall Horn icon fix-- the navigator's horn that knocks sirens out of the sky uses a generic icon of a horn rather than the unique icon designed for the item. This restores the unique icon.
178) The Poisoned Source icon fix -- the book The Poisoned Source uses a generic icon of a book rather than the unique icon designed for the item. This restores the unique icon.
179) Menge's Holy Tome icon fix -- the book Menge's Holy Tome (bible) uses a generic icon of a book rather than the unique icon designed for the item. This restores the unique icon.
180) Holger Blackhand's Horn -- during the quest "A Hallowed Horn", Geralt retrieves Holger's horn. The game incorrectly uses a generic conch for the icon rather than the unique icon designed for the item. This restores the unique icon. Thanks to [color=var(--theme-primary)]konyme for identifying and fixing this bug,
181) Vespula fixed texture -- during the quest "Broken Flowers", Geralt meets Vespula while she is being assaulted. During the exchange, it is clear to see missing textures on her arm and back. This fixes her torso so there are no missing textures.
182) Fringilla fixed texture -- added missing color definition to Fringilla Vigo's shoes, making them black to match her outfit rather than bright red.
183) Gaetan fixed texture -- added missing color definition to Witcher Gaetan's boots, making them leather instead of bright red.
184) Han herb fixed texture -- fixed the model of the han herb to properly reflect the correct model instead of the incorrect arenaria model. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]BlurredNotions for this fix. Consolidates "modHanFix"
185) Shopping Issue #1: Keira -- when visiting Keira in Kaer Morhen, closing the shop does not route back to dialogue menu leaving the player stuck with no menu options on screen. This fixes the bug to route the player back to the menu.
186) Shopping Issue #2: White Orchard Innkeeper (during Empress epilogue) -- when interacting with the White Orchard Innkeeper, closing the shop does not route back to dialogue menu leaving the player stuck with no menu options on screen. This fixes the bug to route the player back to the menu..
187) Shopping Issue #3: Arinbjorn Blacksmith -- when interacting with the blacksmith in Arinbjorn, closing the shop does not route back to dialogue menu leaving the player stuck with no menu options on screen. This fixes the bug to route the player back to the menu.
188) Shopping Issue #4: Belgaard Blacksmith disappears after initial scene in Belgaard -- Geralt can save the Belgaard Blacksmith during one of the POI quests "Person in Distress". Upon saving him, he offers to fast travel both of them back to Belgaard. During this first dialogue, Geralt can shop with him. However, upon leaving Belgaard and returning, the Belgaard Blacksmith disappears from his stall and never returns. This fixes it so that the Blacksmith remains in his stall. Note: this fix is not retroactive; it attaches to the save file, so it will only work on a fresh save. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]MerseyRockoff for this fix.
189) Inn Doors Issue #1: White Orchard Inn -- after the White Orchard massacre, the White Orchard door remains open and never closes for the rest of the game. Fixed so that the door will now close when returning to White Orchard after the first visit to Velen. Note: this fix is not retroactive; it attaches to the save file, so it will only work on a fresh save. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]MerseyRockoff for this fix.
190) Inn Doors Issue #2: Arinbjorn Inn -- after turning in "Phantom of Eldberg" contract to Jorund, the fight goes off, where he gets killed. When you walk out, doors no longer stay open forever. Note: this fix is not retroactive; it attaches to the save file, so it will only work on a fresh save. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]MerseyRockoff for this fix.
191) Inn Doors Issue #3: Rosemary and Thyme / Cabaret -- after finishing Cabaret preparations, Priscilla is late, the guy rushes in to tell Geralt and Dandelion she's hurt. After returning to Cabaret, the door no longer stays stuck open. Note: this fix is not retroactive; it attaches to the save file, so it will only work on a fresh save. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]MerseyRockoff for this fix.
192) Inn Doors Issue #4: Oxenfurt Inn -- after bringing Olgierd both the house of Borsodi and Vlodimir's letter, he sends you to the estate. The Oxenfurt Inn door no longer remains stuck open. Minor trade-off: Geralt and Olgierd walk through the door upon leaving the bar, but this is minor and is a fair trade-off for the benefit of the door correctly closing after that. Note: this fix is not retroactive; it attaches to the save file, so it will only work on a fresh save. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]MerseyRockoff for this fix.
193) Kolgrim's Skeleton fix #1: skeleton disappears after being looted -- during the Viper School treasure hunt in White Orchard, Geralt must loot Kolgrim's statue at the cemetery. This fixes a bug where the skeleton disappears after being looted. Credit to [color=var(--theme-primary)]woodbyte. Consolidates "modKolgrimSkeletonFix"
194) Kolgrim's Skeleton fix #2: skeleton does not provide sparkle clue -- also during the Viper School treasure hunt in White Orchard, the same skeleton does not provide the sparkle that indicates it is a clue.
