This mod introduces 10 ascending levels of difficulty, inspired by similar systems in other roguelikes. It integrates the Shifting Earth events into the Ascension system, allowing you to encounter them more frequently as part of your progression, while also improving map variety.

You select Ascension levels at the expedition menu. You complete an Ascension level by killing any Night Lord like usual and then you unlock the next Ascension level. Each Ascension level keeps the effect of the lower Ascensions, making the game gradually harder. The Ascension level unlocks are class specific.

Visual unlocks 视觉解锁
You unlock visual enhancements every time you beat a new Ascension level and when you beat Ascension 3 with each class. There are also two bonus ones for beating Ascension 10 with two and three classes. In total there are 20 different visuals and you can see some of them in the visual showcase in the video section.

Once unlocked they can be used on any class.

You apply them via the expedition menu and they are saved to the specific class and stored between sessions.

Installation 安装
1. Install ModEngine3. Download the me3_installer.exe file and run it. Direct link here.

OPTIONAL: Seamless Co-op install

To be able to fight the released enhanced bosses you'll need Seamless Co-op as it allows you to select them while offline and using mods.

You can play this mod together with friends using Seamless Co-op. The Ascension levels only affects your character so you can technically play this with people who are not using the mod or while selecting different Ascension levels. If they have the mod active they should see your visual unlocks.

1. Download Seamless Co-op.

Using Seamless Co-op will create a new save that's only used for Seamless. To keep your current progress you can do this:

This is a beta release of the mod and when more advanced mod tools are released, the effects of the Ascension levels can be improved and made more interesting. More Ascension levels might be added as well when that happens.

There is a bug where you can temporarily lose your visual auras after dying which will be solved with new mods tools too.

With more enhanced everdark bosses coming and depending on how they will be handled in the future, this mod might change a bit.

Currently beating Ascension 10 versus the first boss is no different from the last boss which is something that could change in the future with more mod tools available as well.
