So my previous mod "Tinkerer Starts with Research" was designed to solve a similar issue, but I wasn't happy with the fact that the tinkerers starter ability pool was reduced to just research.

User TruePureGold suggested that they wished the Tinkerer had a unique passive where they gained research if no attack had been used.

Whenever you don't use an attack ability you gain a research.

This mod basically accomplishes the same thing as the base stat rework, (I accidentally spent several hours making this before realizing the solution to the base stat change).

The difference is that for this you get a unique Tinkerer passive that is not innate to the class. It also has an upgrade.

I've been able to create a cat with the passive using a save editor. It seems to be working correctly rn.
